October saw strong building permit activity continue in South Bruce.
Stats show 10 permits were issued in October with a construction value of 400 thousand dollars.
That brings the year to date value to 8.7 million dollars — higher than the six million registered at this time last year.
159 permits have been issued so far in 2009
Chief Building Official Don Jackson says the type of construction last month continued to be a mix of commercial, residential, and farm building.
It’s been a record year for building activity in South Bruce — but Jackson thinks the boom might come to an end soon.
He says the nice weather won’t last much longer, and once the snow arrives, building construction slows down until the next spring.
