If you’re having problems getting into that Christmas spirit over the next little while, perhaps thousands of nativity scenes in one place might do the trick.
Nativity Display committee spokesperson Flora Nabrotzky says for the 5th year in a row — ‘Thousands of Nativities’ are on display at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Walkerton.
Nabrotzky says last year they had just over three thousand nativity scenes for display and they expect more this year.
She says there are the obvious huge displays but others are inside bottles, or on thimbles.
Nabrotzky says the Walkerton display is the largest of its kind in the world.
The displays are the result of a combined effort of many communities, schools and churches in the Saugeen Watershed area and beyond.
She says they receive many displays from overseas as well.
Thousands of nativities opened on Thursday and will continue until Sunday, November 29th.
Weekdays and Sundays the displays are open from 1 PM to 9 PM.
On Saturdays, it’s 9 AM to 9 PM.
Admission is free.
The Walkerton Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is located on 11 4th Street.
