You may have noticed more smells coming from Collingwood’s ethanol plant.
Amaizeingly Green is explaining the recent odours were because of wind damage done to the side of its steephouse.
That’s the area where corn is re-hydrated before its separated.
The plant says the wind ripped some metal siding of the steephouse creating a large hole.
Power outages also caused some glitches in the process which along with the wind caused some problems with the scrubbers which are supposed to reduce the bad smells.
The company says it received several complaints and has now repaired the damage.
