I really, really want to lay the details of the SMHLPA trip to the United Center and the Joe Louis Arena on you, but once again, legitimate sporting activities get first dibs.
Today at Guelph, the CWOSSA ” AA ” Girls Basketball Championship is being staged.
The potential exists that the OSCVI Falcons and the Kincardine District Lady Knights could face each other in both the Senior Girls and the Junior Girls Final.
Of course, Bishop MacDonnell, Simcoe & Erin may have a say in that.
Nevertheless, play begins at 9 this morning and runs through the day.
Later tonight here in Owen Sound, the Attack host the Saginaw Spirit in an Ontario Hockey League matchup.
The Spirit, after unloading two kingpins of the defensive corps, remain third in the Western Conference, while the Attack are last in the 10 team Conference, 11 points back of Saginaw, and two points back of a playoff spot.
As the second third of the season gets underway, Owen Sound’s position is both perplexing and somewhat perilous.
Tonight’s game is the third of 5 straight at home, a stretch in which they have to garner wins and points.
The Attack are 1 & 1 on the home stand and there’s no need to recap what happened last Saturday against Brampton, since everyone I’ve spoken to says I was better off in Detroit.
A better result tonight we hope.
Game time is 7 pm at the J.D. McArthur Arena
I’m Fred Wallace
