The deal for Collingwood to buy an abandoned movie theatre may not quite be done just yet.
The town was in negotiations with the owners of the Stinson Cinema 4 last week, but a second offer from the town was rejected.
The plan had been to turn the building into a permanent home for Georgian College, and a home for a centre for performing arts.
Now, Collingwood Mayor Chris Carrier says the Stinson group, has re-approached the town, offering to re-open talks.
Carrier says town staff have been given specific parameters to work with during the talks, and if the proposal doesn’t fit within them, the issue won’t even come up for discussion with council.
