One Owen Sound Councillor is vowing to make the Bayshore Community Centre as senior friendly as possible.
Arlene Wright says while there is no money available to expand the Bayshore, they want to try and make the existing facility more appealing for seniors.
She says they want to divide the existing space into three separate rooms for the seniors to use including a lounge area on the south side of the complex.
She says that room would be a permanent fixture for the Seniors and would never be rented out.
Wright says the other two rooms, after three years also would never be rented out for use by different groups.
Wright says the seniors have told her they want a place of their own and the city is doing to do its best to make that happen.
She says while this may not be the perfect solution as far as a seniors centre is concerned there is the possibility of putting on an addition at some future date if money becomes available.
Senior groups and city officials will be meeting later this month to look at the various options available for improving the Bayshore for seniors use.
