Christmas comes early to the Bruce County Museum and Cultural Centre as they host the annual Saugeen Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Christmas Bazaar.
Auxiliary spokesperson Jane Boyd says this is the 5th time they’ve held the event at the museum and the setting just seems to fit what they’re trying to achieve.
Boyd says featured will be craft tables, used CD’s and books and the always popular bake table, just to name a few.
Fellow spokesperson Mary McCallum also pointed out the bake table.
She says you have to be at the museum early to get the best choice.
The table will feature all sorts of baking including pies, tarts and shortbreads for the season.
She says you could purchase now, freeze and then use in holiday entertaining.
McCallum says the money raised in the bazaar will go to help patients who need the services within the Saugeen Memorial Hospital in Southampton.
She says last year they raised about five thousand dollars and they hope to do the same, if not better, this year.
McCallum says they recently paid for a state-of-the-art television system in the hospital that allows each patient to have TV service in their rooms–something they’ve never had before.
The Christmas Bazaar runs today from 10 AM to 3 PM.
It’s a free admission although if you wish to take in the rest of the Museum displays, the normal entrance fee will apply.
