A new program being launched at Georgian College in Owen Sound next fall.
The Power Engineering Technician program is designed for those seeking careers in electrical power generation facilities, industrial power plants, hospitals and commercial buildings just to name a few.
Associate Dean Donna Jansen says its a perfect fit for the Owen Sound campus because of its proximity to several electrical power plants in southern Ontario as well as Bruce Power.
She says they’ll also be focusing on other power alternatives such as wind, solar, coal, gas and methane.
Jansen says the students will also be able to take advantage of the 8 million dollar state of the art marine simulator.
The addition of the program means 14 full time programs will be offered next September.
