Steve Santini is at it again.
This time the escape artist who hails from Owen Sound — also named the worlds most extreme escape artist by Ripleys Believe it or not — is trying to escape from the Cornwall Jail.
Santini is celebrating Friday the 13th by attempting the escape at the renouned “haunted” jail.
Santini will be searched first with a metal detector – then heavily restrained – then placed in a locked cell with 20 minutes on the clock to escape.
Santini says what is different to this escape – as opposed to many others he has been successful at – is it will be in plain view for the media to see.
He will use pain control – gravity and other methods to free himself from the shackles and other restraints.
Once Santini completes this task – he will then head to a set up of the gallows at the jail – where people were hanged in the courtyard.
Santini says he will then be restrained as an inmate would have to be hanged.
Santini will have six minutes to escape from that set up.
Six minutes – according to Santini – is how long it would have taken for the death sentence to be read.
Santini says everytime he trys to attempt things like this – theories are tested.
Santinis escape starts at 1 PM.
Santini has had many successful escapes including from death row in Carlton County Gaol in Ottawa.
