The Owen Sound Attack host the Brampton Battalion at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Center tomorrow night.
Right here and now, I’m going to lobby the two clubs and the OHL establish a tradition where these teams play each other on Remembrance Day every year and rotate the venue; one year at Brampton, the next in Owen Sound.
What would be more fitting than playing the Battalion with their army motif on Remembrance Day ?
Could you incorporate Owen Sound Elementary Schools and their Remembrance Day ceremonies into the hockey game ?
Plus, with the proximity of the Attack to the Land Forces Central Area Training Center near Meaford, this has all kinds of potential.
I like it.
On another matter, tomorrow’s game against Brampton marks the start of the second-third of the schedule.
The Attack start the weekend on the outside of the playoff picture looking in and truthfully, it’s hard to argue based on the first third that they deserve better.
Yes, there have been factors for the record, but it’s tough to distinguish sometimes between what is a factor, and what is an excuse.
So we’ll ignore factors and excuses and believe firmly Owen Sound has a talented unit, one that’s capable of more than 8 wins in a third of the schedule, beginning tomorrow night against Brampton
