There are several changes to the staff in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula.
A new Chief Building Official and Manager of Financial Services were hired at last night’s council meeting.
Tracy Neifer has accepted the position of Manager of Financial Services and will begin her contract early next week.
Mayor Gwen Gilbert says Neifer comes from BDO Dunwoody with several years of municipal auditing experience.
Interim CAO Rhonda Cook says the position includes acting as treasurer, tax collector, overseeing the financial services department and preparing budgets.
Council has been trying to fill the position since June when Annette Robson turned down the financial services manager position because of controversy over hiring policies.
Wayne McFadden has also accepted the position of Chief Building Official and property standards officer.
McFadden will begin his contract on Monday.
Cook says the CBO position has been vacant since early September after the retirement of Murray Leppard.
Also at last night’s meeting Council approved a motion that asked Mayor Glbert to produce a report from the AMO Conference in July – or to leave her office in council chambers.
Gilbert did want to make a comment about the request last night.
