The Grey Bruce Health Unit has expanded the priority list of residents who can get the H1N1 flu shot.
The list now includes adults over the age of 65 and kids and teens in school — from the age of 5 to 18.
The first chance for the new group of residents to get the H1N1 vaccine is tonight at the clinic at the Chesley Community Centre from 4 PM to 8 PM.
The priority list still includes pregnant women, adults with chronic health conditions and children under the age of five.
Medical Officer of Health Doctor Hazel Lynn says they made the decision to expand with the Ministry of Health because of the drop in the number of clinics last week.
But she admits they are concerned about running out of the vaccine tomorrow and the next shipment doesn’t arrive until Wednesday.
The Health Unit only has a thousand doses of the vaccine available.
Doctor Lynn says they don’t expect a huge rush since family physicians have done a good job vaccinating their patients.
As for the rest of the population — Doctor Lynn hopes they can make a decision later this week but she says it all depends on the amount of vaccine available.
Doctor Lynn notes their H1N1 clinics have gone very well.
Doctor Lynn also notes all of their appointments for the non adjuvant vaccine for pregnant women are booked.
