An investigator with the Fire Marshall’s office is preparing his report and recommendations following his probe into an explosion at a trailer in Sauble Beach.
Mike Stewart of the Midhurst office of the Fire Marshall will soon file his recommendations, including one that rigid copper lines to propane appliances be replaced with flexible lines.
On September 28th, two Guelph Seniors were at the trailer and smelled propane.
They moved the stove in the home, then moved it back and later when the stove was lit, an explosion resulted.
The house trailer was completely destroyed in the resulting fire.
Both victims were seriously injured, as Marg Synnott still underwent skin therapy for her burns.
Her husband Bill was released from hospital a few days after the blast.
Stewart says the trailer was more than 20 years old and it appears the stove had been moved a number of times, creating a weak spot in the line which eventually broke that day.
