You can now go grocery shopping at midnight in Hanover.
Hanover’s Foodland grocery store is now open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Foodland Manager Martino Catalano says the 24 -7 operation will cater to shift workers and those who work out of town but still want to shop local.
The extra hours of business has resulted in five new jobs at the store.
Foodland made the switch to a 24 hours operation on October 2nd — and Catalano says the busiest store evening hours are between 9 and 11:30 PM.
But he says there are even a few who do their shopping in the wee morning hours like 3 AM.
Catalano believes Hanover is big enough to support a 24 hour operation.
He says it being well received by the public and is confident as time goes by more and more people will chose to do their shopping after 9 PM.
Foodland is the first grocery store in Hanover to operate 24 hours a day.
