Grey Bruce Your Way is now officially launched.
The website — www.greybruceyourway.com — allows people planning to visit the two counties to book accomodation online ahead of their visit.
It was originally connected with the Bruce Community Futures Development Corporation and rose out of a need to boost tourism in the area during the so-called “shoulder seasons” in the spring and fall.
Director Barb Fisher says any business within Grey and Bruce — not just accomodations and attractions can be listed on the site.
She says listing fees are waived for the first year, but hopes business owners decide to stay listed after that.
Fisher says the website gives tourism businesses worldwide exposure, 24 hours a day — and while they might have hours when they’re closed, the website never closes.
The Regional Tourism Marketing Partnership, City of Owen Sound, and both the Counties of Grey and Bruce are part of the project.
Bruce Warden Bill Goetz says the website will give the region more coverage and once results start to show up, more people will buy into it.
Right now, 16 hotels and motels are listed, and nine restaurants.
