Frustration is growing at the Bruce Grey Catholic School Board.
Trustees are upset at the amount of money spent trying to appease Owen Sound Council in regards to the old St. Mary’s high school wing.
The School Board wants to demolish the abandoned school wing, while City Council is looking at saving the 1891 structure to declare it a heritage building.
Trustee Chair Norm Bethune says the board has spent 50 thousand dollars to date in architect and engineering fees at the request of the City.
And now Owen Sound Council has directed staff to sit down with the school board to explore more options.
Bethune hopes these other ‘options’ aren’t going to cost more money.
He says there is no provincial money for this, so that means all these additional costs have to come out of the school board’s already tight budget.
Bethune hopes some form of compromise can be found soon.
