It’s a waiting game.
The Vice President of Corporate Affairs for Bruce Power Murray Elston, says there’s been little if any movement from Saskatchewan regarding its energy future and where Bruce Power might fit in.
Elston says there’s been little reaction from the government on the recent Perrins Report which indicated 84 per cent of those asked opposed the idea of nuclear power generation in their province.
He says Bruce Power has been watching the legislaltive committee review of the energy mix study with Saskatchewan Power.
Elston says they’re taking in all the policy considerations from Saskatchewan before they move to do anything further.
Elston says there’s no real concern at this time since they’re in the early stages of any negotiations with Saskatchewan.
He says the prairie province knows about Bruce Power and the premier of Saskatchewan has an energy file that he considers high profile so it’s just a matter of time before the next set of decisions can be taken.
Bruce Power has been interested in building a nuclear power plant in Saskatchewan and in Alberta.
