Despite all the wet weather the Hanover Regional Recreation Complex construction project remains on schedule.
Councillor and Project Management Committee Chair Bob White is pleased with the progress.
He says the frame is up and it won’t be long before work begins on the roof.
In the meantime, flat bed trucks are rolling in with precast concrete slabs that will make up the arena seating.
This will all be lifted in by crane, once that is complete than the roof can go up.
The entire facility is expected to be enclosed by mid December.
White says excitement is growing as the building continues to get larger and take shape.
The new Regional Recreation Complex will replace Hanover’s old and now demolished arena that served the town for almost 50 years.
The new 8.8 million dollar facility will feature an NHL sized ice rink, a walking track and an auditorium.
The project is slated to wrap up in August of 2010.
