The Walkerton Agriculture Society is getting a new roof thanks to an Ontario Trillium Foundation grant.
Huron Bruce MPP Carol Mitchell announced the Society is getting 65-thousand dollars.
Mitchell says making the Society’s office more efficient and low maintenance will allow them to continue to support local agricultural initiatives while providing the community a destination for their events and meetings.
Walkerton Agriculture Society Director Morgan Inglis says the badly needed new roof will allow them to utilize the building to its full potential and continue their commitment to providing a much needed space to host local events.
Established in 1854, the Walkerton Agriculture Society’s mandate is to encourage an awareness of agriculture and to promote improvements in life skills and the quality of life of persons living in our agriculture community.
