It won’t be long before fundraising efforts wrap up for Hanover’s new Regional Recreation Complex.
Another sizable donation has been made to the fund.
The Last Blast in the Barn really was a blast.
Organizers of the May event have come forward with an 11 thousand dollar cheque for the new regional rec complex.
Campaign Coordinator Laura Johnson says the goal of the fundraising campaign is 1.75 million dollars.
The organizing group has already raised over 1.6 million.
Johnson is confident the remaining 150 thousand dollars will be raised by the time the new Recreation Complex opens next August.
Johnson calls the success of the campaign phenomenal and credits corporate sponsors, businesses and individuals for their generosity.
The Fundraising Committee is now placing a heavy focus on their arena seat sales — where individuals or businesses can have their name engraved on one of the seats for 250 dollars.
Johnson says once the new 8.8 million dollar complex opens, Hanover will host another celebration similar to the Last Blast in the Barn.
