Building activity continues to be slow in Kincardine.
The municipality issued 17 building permits last month — compared to 33 in September 2008.
The year to date construction value for 2009 is 15.5 million dollars — down from the 35 million at the same time last year.
Building and Planning Manager Michele Barr says the permits were for one family home as well as renovations and decks.
She says the renovation permits could be a sign interest is picking up because of the federal government’s new home renovation tax credit.
