Conservative MP Larry Miller is firing back at Liberal MP Wayne Easter over the so called “Conservative cheque writing scandal”.
Easter took shots at Miller on Bayshore Broadcasting News over the local MP’s cheque presentations recently.
The Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP has been handing out infrastructure cheques with his name at the top, and Easter says there should simply be Government of Canada logos, or Department names on those cheques.
Larry Miller calls Wayne Easter a hypocrite and says members of the Ontario and Federal parliament have been doing this for years.
The local MP agrees, that the Conservative party logo should not be on the cheques, which was the trigger for complaints by the Opposition parties, but he sees nothing wrong with his name on them.
Miller says his cheques have the Government Canada on it, his name as the Local MP and where the money is coming from.
He says no MP has ever implied that this was there money, by having their name on the prop.
The local MP also denies the Conservative government is favouring ridings with Tory MP’s — adding millions of dollars is flowing to Toronto and there are no Conservatives there.
