A 17 year old driver caught going 239 kilometres an hour on Highway 26 has beaten the rap on a technicality.
Corey Graves was clocked at the ultra-high speed in May 2008, before the new racing laws were brought into force.
According the Toronto Sun — he beat the rap when the judge in the case said he could not rely on the “inadequate” notes of the arresting officer and dismissed the charges.
The Judge found Graves guilty of the lesser charge of failing to surrender his licence and fined him 85 dollars.
Huronia West OPP Constable Mark Kinney told the newspaper he wasn’t disappointed, since at the end of the day, everyone got home safely that night.
