“It’s disgusting and an invasion of privacy.”
So says Friends of Kincardine Hospital Chair Gregg McLelland reacting to what was discussed at a meeting called by Huron Bruce MPP Carol Mitchell on October 9th.
The Friends were not invited and neither was the media.
In attendance was Kincardine Mayor Larry Kraemer; a rep from the Local Health Integration Network and reps from the South Bruce Health Centre.
Although Mitchell has indicated that they did not talk about de-amalgamation, McClelland says they did discuss a letter that was addressed to him from assistant deputy minister Ken Dean.
McClelland charges that letter was addressed to him and only him and yet was the subject of a meeting in which the Friends were not asked to participate.
McClelland tells Bayshore Broadcasting News that the scenario was disgusting and he feels it’s an invasion of his privacy.
He says he plans to tell Mayor Kraemer just that in person.
Meanwhile, McClelland says FOKH is more active than ever now with as he puts it, “The gloves are coming off,” although he wouldn’t say much more as to what that meant.
He says they are recruiting more members and they are looking at legal avenue to take but again, would not go into detail.
