Eight months and counting.
The 50th anniversary reunion at West Hill Secondary School in Owen Sound scheduled for July 2nd to the 4th, and organizers are already planning events for the occasion.
Barry Brick is one of the organizers and says already they have a number of events planned that will highlight the history of the school and profile many of the students who have passed through its halls.
He says they are looking forward to seeing a lot of old friends and the fact the July 1st holiday falls on the Thursday, means it will be a really long weekend for the get together.
Brick says they are trying to get the word out early so people can register for the reunion as early as possible.
He says they can do that on line at www.whss50.com and while on that site people can see who else has registered so they will know in advance who will be attending the reunion.
Brick says there will be tours of the school, a special assembly Saturday afternoon and an alumni soccer game with a battle between team old against team new.
Saturday night will feature the big reunion dance at the Lumley Bayshore from 8 until 1a.m. and on Sunday there will be an all denomination church service in the west gym at the high school.
Brick says registration is 50 dollars for alumnus and 100 dollars for couples.
