An Owen Sound man is upset after his dog was attacked on 13th Street West.
Mark Hamilton was walking his small dog between 4th and 5th Avenue West on 13th Street Wednesday afternoon when a larger dog pounced.
Hamilton says the “Collie-like” dog grabbed his by the throat and shook it.
He says before he could get his dog free, the other dog bit his on the stomach and opened it up.
Hamilton says his dog is at a pet hospital and has a 50-50 chance of surviving.
He has complained to Owen Sound and the animal shelter has been called in.
Hamilton wants the offending dog muzzled and leashed, and says if it was hit dog that attacked — it would be gone.
He also wants to warn neighbours about the offending animal, so it doesn’t happen again.
