You won’t be hearing the rumble of hundreds of motorcycles parading through Collingwood next year.
Ride for Sight organizers have decided to hold the event at Mosport International Raceway near Bowmanville on June 25 to 27th.
Chair Mike Harwood says the park, which is northeast of Toronto, holds motorcycle races so it’s already outfitted to handle the numbers of bikes that take part in the annual ride for the Foundation Fighting Blindness.
Harwood says many of the participants weren’t happy in Collingwood this year.
He says a lot of it had to do with the fact it rained the entire weekend and that often alters people’s perspectives.
Harwood says many people were also not happy about camping being held at two separate places — the Curling Club and Harbourview Park.
He says camping will be all at one place at Mosport.
Harwood tells us he was excited to be back in Collingwood this year after five years away and he is a bit disappointed the venue had to be changed for next year, but he says you have to listen to the members.
