Low registration numbers has forced the Hanover Figure Skating Club to suspend its operations for the year.
Like all of Hanovers ice users — the Figure Skating Club would have to utilize neighbouring ice rinks while Hanovers new Regional Recreation Complex is being built.
Hanover Manager of Programs Sherri Walden believes the limited program this year and the loss of home ice contributed to the programs cancellation.
She notes the Figure Skating Club is usually quite popular boasting a registration of 100 members.
The ice time allocated for the Figure Skating Club at area arenas is now being given to minor hockey.
Hanover figure skaters are now being encouraged to enrol with neighbouring programs.
Walden is confident once Hanover’s new Regional Rec complex is complete, the Figure Skating Club will be back stronger than ever.
