Bruce Grey Owen Sound MP Larry Miller has been re-elected as Chair of the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-food.
Miller says it has been a pleasure working with his colleagues over the past five years and serving them as Chair for the past year.
Vice Chairs Mark Eyking and Andr Bellavance were also re-elected.
Larry Miller says his priorities for the fall include continuing a study on competitiveness and the beef and hog sectors.
He also wanted the committee to move study how to help young farmers and improve the future of farming.
The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food may examine any issue related to Canadas agriculture and food industry.
It is a public forum where specific events or initiatives affecting the sector can be addressed.
Miller is the 42nd person to Chair the Agriculture Committee, the 23rd Chair from Ontario and the third MP from Bruce County to sit as Chair.
