Pumpkinfest 2009 is now in the history books.
Pumpkinfest Coordinator Lisa Irwin says it was a great weekend with “tons” of people showing up, even when it was raining.
She says people love seeing the huge pumpkins and taking in all of the activities on the site.
This year, a Kiddie Karnival, giant car show, and camel rides were just some of the highlights.
Irwin says between the two main festival sites over two days, attendance was down a bit, but was still likely close to 50 thousand people.
Over 60 growers of giant pumpkins and other big vegetables took part this year.
She says even with the sometimes wet weather, it was still a successful, massive festival.
Irwin says it will be another three or four weeks before they know just how much money Pumpkinfest raised, and how much economic benefit it gave to the community.
