80 years of honouring veterans and community service in Southampton.
Royal Canadian Legion Branch 155 is celebrating its anniversary.
Branch President Marilyn Noble says the early members were mostly veterans of World Wars One and Two.
Today there are 272 members, composed of veterans and affliate members.
Noble says the Legion donates to various community causes, along with assisting veterans and seniors.
She says the branch is there to help them if they need it.
Noble says the Legion supports the Rembrance Day Poster Contest at local schools and that the turnout last year was excellent with all grades participating.
An informal reception was held Saturday afternoon to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the legion in Southampton.
