Owen Sound Attack Captain David Kolomatis has signed a professional tryout agreement with the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.
Kolomatis, a native of Livingston, New Jersey played 3 seasons with the Attack, collecting 111 points. He had 17 goals last season from the blueline last season.
The 20 year old was selected by the L.A. Kings in the fifth-round (126th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft and Manchester is the Kings top affiliate team.
Kolomatis, who the Attack hoped would return as an overage player this year, made his professional debut with the Providence in April playing in four regular season AHL games and 16 playoff games.
The professional tryout agreement consists of a 25 game span where Kolomatis future with the Manchester Monarchs will be re-evaluated and a decision to either stay with the club or be re-assigned to the Attack will be made.
The Attack are at London tonight to face the Knights.
