Time is running out for you to submit a nomination for the first ever Owen Sound Cultural Awards.
They are open to residents or groups under several categories including — literacy, visual media arts, theatre, dance and music.
The awards are open for any age and any discipline.
There are also the four cultural pillar awards — which are patron, heritage, cultural and life time achievement.
Events Facilitator for Owen Sound – Doug Cleverley – says the intention of the awards is to celebrate all areas of the arts in the city.
Cleverley adds the awards are part of the City’s cultural master plan.
The cultural advisory committee has been working on putting these awards together for the past two years.
Owen Sound is also listed as a cultural capital of Canada.
Nomination packages are available at city hall or on-line at www.owensound.ca/culturalaward
The deadline for nominations are Monday.
The awards will be handed out October 15th.
