Arran Elderslie has a new Chief Building Official.
Arran Elderslie council has approved the hiring of Stephen Walmsley of New Tecumseh in Simcoe County.
Mayor Ron Oswald says Walmsley comes with 24 years experience under his belt and begins his new full time job on Monday.
Oswald says they had applicants for the job and that was whittled down to three before interviews were held.
A second round of interviews were held with the full municipal council on the two finalists and Walmsley got the job.
Mayor Oswald wanted to thank the Chief Building Officials of Brockton and Owen Sound — Terry Tuck and Brian Green respectively — who helped out while the search was on for the new CBO.
Walmsley replaces former Chief Building Official Craig Johnston who was dismissed from the job in late June.
