Plans are in the works for a place in Collingwood you may remember taking your family a few years ago.
The town will be buying the former Sinton Theatre property at 40 Huron Street for 1.4 million dollars.
The money will come from a 700 thousand dollar provincial government grant, 100 thousand from the sale of the Tremont building and the rest from reserves.
Collingwood has already received interest from Georgian College to enter into a partnership to turn the building into a permanent campus.
Currently the town just has a satellite office.
Councillor Kathy Jeffery says details still need to be worked out, but there is also interest from another group to use the building for a performing arts centre.
Jeffery says either use would greatly benefit the community.
The sale is expected to close by mid-October.
