Owen Sound and Hanover are getting into the Olympic Spirit.
Both communities are holding celebrations today to honour the Olympic Torch’s arrival on December 28th.
There will be two assemblies at OSCVI — 10 AM and 1:30 PM — as part of the “90 Day Kick Off”.
Kimberly Ribble Orr — who competed in Judo in the 2000 Summer Olympics — will be the guest speaker.
In Hanover – there will be a parade of students and community members at Hanover Raceway followed by a speech from Darda Sales.
The gold and silver Paralympian in swimming will be sharing her inspirational message that anything is possible when you maintain a positive attitude.
There will also be an Olympic Flag Raising ceremony afterwards.
Hanover residents are being encouraged to Support the Torch, Seize the Spirit by attending the event.
