Two Hanover Fire Fighters are receiving provincial recognition.
Bayshore Broadcasting News Reporter Robyn Garvey tells us they have just received their 35 and 30 years of service pins from the Ontario Fire Marshals Office.
Recently retired fire pump operator Keith Krueger says he really enjoyed his 35 years on the fire department.
He called it a rewarding experience in which he was able to serve his community while at the same time enjoy the strong bonds of comradeship within the department.
30 year veteran Deputy Fire Chief Terry McDonald agrees.
He says life is never dull on the force, and he encourages more young people to consider serving their community as a volunteer firefighter.
McDonald says Hanover has an excellent auxiliary force that provides young people with the chance to see if this is the type of work for them.
Both Krueger and McDonald add they are pleased with the amount of fire prevention education that is now offered, saying it is making a positive difference.
The two firefighters received their 35 and 30 year service pins at a recent Hanover Council meeting.
Fire Chief Ken Roseborough calls both Krueger and McDonald exemplary firefighters that he has always been able to count on.
