It’s a first for Saugeen Shores.
The first ever Walk of Hope, to raise funds for ovarian cancer research will be held tomorrow.
Walk organizer Michelle McGregor says everyone is invited to the event which she hopes will bring the community closer together.
McGregor says she was returning home from a similar walk last year in Windsor, and decided then there should be one in Saugeen Shores.
McGregor’s sister has suffered from ovarian cancer.
She says Sunday’s event will get underway at 11 AM, rain or shine, at the Northshore Pavilion.
The walk itself will go along Northshore Road to the 10th concession and back again to the pavilion.
Following the walk, prizes will be given out and she hopes to announce at that time that they have raised at least three thousand dollars for their first effort.
Similar walks are being held across the country.
