The free roaming felines that have upset Ripley residents are being controlled.
As Bayshore Broadcasting News Reporter James Morgan tells us, the township is taking steps to deal with the problem.
Three residents recently complained to Huron Kinloss council about several sick, malnourished, and continually reproducing cats living in Ripley.
They say the cats are posing a threat to the health and safety of them and their children.
Mayor Mitch Twolan says he’s travelled through the neighbourhood and did see “a couple” cats at that time.
He says the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) has become involved and he’s also spoke with the township by-law enforcement officer.
Twolan says he made a special point of seeing the neighbourhood for himself and the township is trying to deal with the situation the best it can.
