The Ripley Fall Fair is this weekend.
It’s hosted annually by the Ripley Agricultural Society and this is the 146th edition.
President Mark Robinson says events unofficially got underway last night with a pre-teen dance and the midway opens tonight at 6 PM with the midway and garden tractor pull at 7 PM.
He says the Ambassador Competition takes place in the auditorium with a variety show and entertainment, and pie and cake auctions.
Robinson says while there are 4H competitions beginning early Saturday morning, main events don’t get underway until 11:30 AM when the Mammoth Parade on the main street takes place.
There are plenty of other events too including entertainment and things for the kids to do, a car and truck show, and antique tractor display.
Robinsons says new to the fair, square dancing tractors – which will be on the ball diamond at 3:30 PM Saturday afternoon.
He says they are coming directly from the International Plowing Match in Northern Ontario just for this event.
The fair wraps up an age of majority dance at 9 PM Saturday night.
Admission Friday is 3 dollars (kids 5 and under get in free).
On Saturday, it’s 5 dollars for adults is 5 dollars, 2 for those between 6 and 12 and free for kids 5 and under.
