Pegasus Riding Association Nurturing Challenged Equestrians.
In short it’s PRANCE and the Saugeen Shores organization has been operating for the past 18-years helping develop the skills of challenged children and adults through the use of horses.
PRANCE Program Director Kathy Pryde says the program is therapeutic horseback riding which promotes the rehabilitation and treatment of individuals with physical, developmental and emotional challenges.
The riding facility is located at the Miramichi Farms, located on Highway 21 across from the Kenorus campsite.
Pryde says they operate on a budget of about 175 thousand dollars a year and depend on volunteers to help assist with the program.
To that end, on Saturday, they’re holding an open house/fundraiser and everyone is welcome.
The event goes from 10 AM to 3 PM and includes display riding, along with a BBQ.
Pryde says in addition Liz Ritchie will be there with her famous Clydesdales and you’ll be able to have rides in the horse-drawn wagon.
The event is free and there’s plenty of parking.
