Some extreme films are being played in Collingwood tonight – at least films about something extreme.
The first Georgian Bay Extreme Sports film festival is set for tonight at the Blue Mountain Resort.
Coordinator Isaiah Walters has combined his two loves – as an Owens Sound based film Maker as well as an extreme sport enthusiast.
Walters is an avid Great Lakes fresh water surfer.
Walters says the film features many extreme sports such as surfing – skateboarding and wake boarding.
Walters says the films were chosen by several factors including geographic’s – to help feature the Georgian Bay area.
The films were also chosen to help feature some world class talent not only in film but in the extreme sportsworld.
The pieces will be judged by a panel that will choose the jury’s prize of best film.
Viewers can also help judge for the people’s choice award for favourite film to be announced at the end of the night.
Walters says the films that have made the cut will inform audiences of new innovations and directions in extreme sports.
The films are being played in the Weider Room of the Blue Mountain Inn with doors opening at 7 PM and films start at 7:30 PM.
Tickets are 10 dollars and 5 dollars for students and are available at the door.
