Going, going, gone will be the cry tonight.
That is when the Kiwanis Club of Owen Sound will hold its 60th annual community auction.
This years event is to raise 200 thousand dollars to pay for the new accessible community playground located in Harrison Park.
Kiwanis spokesman Jed Phillips the group partnered with the City of Owen Sound to design and construct the new playground which is now open.
Kiwanis Auction Chair Ron DeBoer says they are hoping this years event will more than cover the cost of the playground.
He says they have moved the auction location to the Bayshore Community Centre, because of the number and size of some of the prizes being offered this year.
DeBoer says there will be everything up for auction including big screen TV’s, tent trailers, boats to barbecues.
The auction begins at 4 PM and runs until 10 in the evening with a silent auction and bucket draw leading up to the big live auction beginning at 7:30 PM.
