The rail trail through Saugeen Shores, will soon have an additional path to take you to Paisley.
Spokesperson Joyce Scammell says work has finally begun on refurbishing the Mill Creek Bridge in south Port Elgin, that will allow users to head towards Paisley if they so desire.
The bridge has been unsafe in the past.
Scammell says they thought the cost would be about 18 thousand dollars but needless vandalism to the bridge has increased the cost to 38 thousand dollars.
Further funding is being sought at this time to cover the additional cost.
The bridge is near SDSS behind Wellington Street on the trail to Wal Mart but instead of continuing in that direction, hang a left until you get to the construction site.
But Scammell invites everyone to come and take a look at the construction going on in the area.
She believes the bridge will be ready for public use in the next couple of weeks.
