You’re likely seeing low-flying planes over Bruce and Grey counties.
Data Manager for Goldak Airborne Surveys Marc Pelletier says his company has been contracted by Health Canada and our area is being done between now and early December.
Goldak says the plane is a twin-engined Piper Navajo equipped with special survey equipment to measure the incidence of radon gas.
Radon is a naturally occurring radio-active gas and could be a health issue.
Goldak says they’ll be flying a grid pattern with flight lines one kilometer apart, some 500 feet above the tallest structure in any given community.
The area being survey stretches from Wiarton in the north to Mount Forest and from the lakeshore to the Barrie – Newmarket area.
