Mixed reviews for the Bluewater District School board as far as the latest Provincial test results dealing with how Grade 3 and 6 students did in Reading Writing and Mathematics.
The board wide score for grade three students are just below or just slightly over the Provincial standard for all three areas.
The grade six results show that those students are slightly below the Provincial average in Reading Writing and Mathematics.
At the Bruce Grey Catholic Board, the grade three results show above average scores for grade 3 students in reading and below the provincial average for writing and math.
Grade six students did better than the Provincial average in Reading and math, and slightly below in Writing.
The grade nine Mathematics results are slightly more encouraging with both the Public and Catholic board scoring above the Provincial average for students in both the applied and academic programs.
At the public board, 44 per cent of applied students were above the provincial standard while 79 per cent in the academic stream were above the Provincial level of 77 per cent.
At the Catholic board, 43 per cent of students in the applied program were above the Provincial standard of 38 per cent, while 78 per cent of students in the academic program surpassed the Provincial standard.
