The Walkerton Rotary Club is celebrating its 70th anniversary today and the public is invited to share in the festivities.
The Rotary Club is hosting a Family Day of games, entertainment and a BBQ at the Rotary Park also known as the Cunningham Park.
The event is open to everyone and its free.
Rotary Secretary Tim Mancell says it was 1939 when the Walkerton Rotary Club was first chartered.
Over the last 7 decades he says the Rotary Club has been involved in numerous projects that have benefited the entire community.
One of their most recent contributions, a 50 thousand dollar donation towards the new medical clinic.
Mancell encourages the public to come out and join in the celebration.
He says Walkerton is fortunate to have such an active Rotary.
The Walkerton Rotary Club boasts 60 members, making it one of the largest rotary clubs in the region.
