If your son or daughter is interested in airplanes, then Owen Sound is the place to be.
Young people between the ages of 7 to 17 can get a free airplane ride at the Billy Bishop Airport today thanks to the Canadian Owners and Pilots Association.
Airport Manager Barry Lewin says this is to try and spark interest among the young people to a possible career in aviation.
Lewin says there will be about 8 aircraft flying that day taking the young people on 20 minutes rides around the Owen Sound area.
He says before they take off one of the owners, a WestJet pilot will give them a big of an over view on the mechanics of flight and how aircraft fly.
Lewin says the young people have to pre register for this event and have their parents sign a waiver form as well, which are available at the Airport.
The flights will take place between 9 AM to 4 PM.
