All things Scottish — and Irish will be celebrated in Owen Sound today.
Its the 11th annual Owen Sound Celtic Festival and for the second year in a row and it’ll be held at the historical Moreston Village of Grey Roots Museum.
Organizer and performer Tara MacKenzie says they’ve gone back to the tradition of the city’s former event that pre-dates the Celtic Festival to feature more musical acts.
There are several local musicians and bands being featured this year including the nine member Black Family of Grey County.
MacKenzie says they range in age from toddlers to teens and can play everything from fiddle to accordion as well as singing and step dancing.
There will also be several local pipe bands performing throughout the day and a highland dancing competition.
The gates open at 8 AM with the opening ceremonies and mass band at Noon.
There’s also a shuttle leaving from Owen Sound city hall hourly, starting at 9 AM.
Tickets are available at the gate for 20 dollars.
