The province is introducing more legislation to deal with expense abuses at the government’s arms length agencies.
Huron Bruce MPP Carol Mitchell says just like their expenses are reviewed by the integrity commissioner — from now on, so will the Provinces 630 agencies.
Those agencies include the scandal plagued E-health Ontario, and the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
Both of which have been at the centre of criticism by the opposition over untendered contracts and expense abuses.
Mitchell says the opposition is leading people to believe that agency’s like e-health are the direct workings of the Province.
She says all 630 are just arms length agencies — but with the new legislation, they will be held as accountable as her government.
In documents made public by the province, one senior executive at the OLG met for a lunch with colleagues last year that cost taxpayers 165 dollars.
Another executive claimed 700 dollars for a quarterly “management team dinner”.
Other “business” activities included employees billing for nine holes of golf with each other and more than 200 dollars in food and snacks.
